A Medicare Advantage Plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private insurance company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) , Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), Private Fee-for-Service Plans (PFFS), Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans (MSAs).
These plans cover all of the services that Original Medicare covers. They often offer additional coverage such as vision, hearing, dental, or wellness programs. Many of them also include Medicare prescription drug coverage or Part D.
You may want to consider a Medicare Advantage Plan because it:
May provide you with additional benefits than you would receive under Original Medicare.
Offers maximum out-of-pocket expenses if something catastrophic were to happen.
Can manage care among your various health care providers.
Can serve as a one-stop-shop for all of your health and prescription drug coverage needs.

Medicare Supplement (Edits/Additions):
Even if you have Medicare Part A and B, you may still be left with hefty healthcare costs such as coinsurance, copayments, and/or deductibles. That’s where a Medicare Supplement Plan comes in. A Medicare Supplement Plan is designed to help you cover some of the out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare does not pay.
